International Bacon Day Recipe Round Up Fun

Wikipedia says:

Bacon Day was conceived in Bedford, Massachusetts in 2000 by the residents of the Crag. International Bacon Day or Bacon Day is an unofficial observance held on the Saturday before Labor Day in the United States. Labor Day is traditionally the first Monday of September though other factions celebrate Bacon Day on December 30.
Bacon Day celebrations typically include social gatherings during which participants create and consume dishes containing bacon, including bacon-themed breakfasts, lunches, dinners, desserts, and drinks.

So we would like to have a social gathering with all our friends from around the world online.

Here's One of Our Favorite Bacon Recipes

Angels on Horseback

I have no idea why this recipe is caled Angels on Horseback, but around a campfire in the late summer, it tastes heavenly!

Ingredients For each person:

• 1 slice bacon - we are partial to Maple, but choose your favourite.

  

  Bacon Strip

• One 1 inch cube cheese - we like to use the orange cheddar cheeese, but use your favorite.

  

  Cheddar Cheese

• One bun - we use dinner rolls.

  

  Assorted Dinner Rolls

Method:

1. Take a green stick and poke it through one end of your strip of bacon.
2. Add your cheese cube.
3. Wrap the rest of your bacon strip around your cheese cube, then secure the other end of the strip by poking the end of the stick through it.
4. Roast your bacon wrapped cheese over a campfire.
5. When the bacon is cooked and the cheese has started to melt, grab it with your bun, and slide it of the stick.
6. Mmmmm! Enjoy!

We really enjoyed making these at Camp Quin-Mo-Lac when we were young.
