Warning! Children's Highchair Belt Unreliable!

Do You Have This IKEA Highchair? Important Alert!

Following minor injury reports of the highchair Safety Belt found on the ANTILOP suddenly opening, IKEA along with the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Health Canada have issued a recall of the belt. Ikea is aware of eight international reports of belts opening, including three resulting in minor injury when a child fell from the high chair. Countries reporting incidents are the United States (5), Sweden (2) and Japan (1). However,Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these highchair belts manufactured in China. ANTILOP high chairs selling for about $20 in the USA and Canada were quite popular . From August 2006 through January 2010 , 133,000 units were sold in in the United States and between July 2006 to November 2009 about 36,000 units of the recalled products were sold in Canada.  Consumers need to check their ANTILOP children's high chair to see if it has a production date between 0607and 0911 (YYMM) and supplier number 17389 molded into the underside of the seat. According to the USA recall,there may also be a label affixed to the underside of the seat with the words"ANTILOP," "IKEA" and one of the following model numbers:

  • ANTILOP high chair blue         Model # 701.467.92
  • ANTILOP high chair red         Model # 501.467.93
  • ANTILOP high chair white         Model # 300.697.24
